There is a Chevrolet “bulletin” out there that states 2 1/2 qts of oil between oil changes is acceptable on the Duramax!!! It’s a low density steel ring issue causing the problem..
Everyone driving a 2022 or newer needs to file a complaint with Chevrolet Customer Care. No where in the owner manual does it mention this problem. No one out there in “dealer” world will explain what’s going to happen when that $3000 particulate filter in the exhaust plugs up because their trucks are putting all this burnt oil particles thru the filter!
Neither Ford or Cummins is having this problem. Don’t let the issue slide by. A $90k truck SHOULD NOT be burning oil. What happens when the truck gets a 100k miles on it?? Open a file with Cust Care!!
