Update on Lifters. Dealer confirmed that the lifter is the noise i am hearing. I asked if GM would consider helping us out with the 4k + repair. GM agreed to cover 30% of the bill. Now with that being said I am grateful for the assistance, however, a failure at 48k is very premature, considering the life of the 6.2L is in excess of 150k miles. I was hoping that our loyalty to GM over the past 50+ years would have factored into the decision to help out with the repair and a more reasonable level. The vehicle is well under the 60k powertrain warranty, but over the five-year threshold. The issue is a well-known problem and is still occurring in the current vehicles. Therefore, I would hope GM would step up and provide reasonable compensation to its customers that experience this issue. Personally, I am not looking for 100% coverage, but 30% on a vehicle with 48k miles is on the low side. We have owned 30+ GM vehicles over the years, Corvettes to Cadillacs. and will continue to purchase GM products. We currently have a 2021 Sierria Denali, which may also be affected by the lifter issue. Keeping a close eye on it!
