Well, despite hitting the pole at very low speed, my bumper needs to be replaced along with the step pad, side step insert, and bracket. Dealer’s body shop quoted $3,700. Plus, get this, 1.0 hour to reprogram the park distance control.

GM’s defense to a class action will be that we signed some document at delivery acknowledging that the park distance control was not equipped on the trucks and it releases them from liability. They’ll also claim that the owners manual has a disclaimer that says not to rely on the park distance control and always check the surroundings, blah blah blah.
