J.Nerdilaw,
I do hope you get the truck you want in a timely manner. I relented, after 7 months, and bought a truck off the lot, that my dealer called me about, that another customer ordered and backed out on. Fortunately for me it was an even nicer truck than I ordered and the dealer made me an offer I couldn’t refuse because I waited so long.
I don’t know anything about the Colorado’s other than a lot of people seem to like them. I focused all my research on the 2500 HD’s as I wanted to upgrade from the 1500’s to be able to haul a larger travel trailer.
I have been a GM guy for many years and owned more Chevy trucks than I can remember and a few Cadillacs also along with several Chevy model cars. FYI I am over 70 yrs. old.
My current opinion is that I would not buy another newer 1500 truck due to the quality of manufacture has gone down significantly.
The 2500 and larger trucks are just built better as they are intended more for the commercial market and the current 6.6 gas engine is built with time tested pushrod V8 technology that has a proven track record.
FYI my previous 2021 2500HD, that I traded in on the 2022, had halogen headlights on the Custom trim level. I was able to find replacement LED lamps that replaced the original ones for less than $150.00 without having to replace the entire assembly.
You might want to look into that. I found a lot of info on them on YT and Google.
