Those who are having issues with iPods locking up when plugged into the systems: have you tried disabling mass storage (PC) and/or Disk Use (Mac)? As he said, disabling this only allows the iPod to sync to iTunes and iTunes playslists, but from what I’ve seen that’s how most (not all) people use their iPods anyway.
