Excel treats dates as integer numbers, starting with 1 on January 1, 1990. As an illustration, 17 March 2021 is actually 44272. Applying formats like yyyy-mm-dd, yyyy, or yyyy just modifies how these numbers are visually represented; it has no bearing on how they are sorted. https://www.businessbid.com
