my sympathy to you. i am in same uncomfortable purchaser position. the twilight zone of GM hype.
$1000 non refundable deposit to have 2015 chevy ss produced for me given to the dealer as demanded on september 1, 2014.
i specifically asked the salesman to introduce me to the dealer inventory specialist and discussed with him my desire to be involved with tracking production/shipment/dealer delivery and prep of the car. result. silence from the inventory specialist. he did say they were busy and could not hold up normal business to notify me of everything. …. really. i could not believe it. i tryed to be nice, but he totally misunderstood the customer experience i wanted. my impression. he didnt have time to oblige at any level.
http://www.gmconnects.com does not work. i have contacted them via thier site to inform them of such. result. silence.
it seems to me that the dealer and the corporate do not want to provide this level of purchase experience for us as new owners.
the best you can hope for is to have a dealer employee who likes you or your business to do this for you.
it is just a shame that you seem to have to practically have to beg for this info.
i think the corvette buyers have a good system. but i dont know all those details.
