The small availability of the 6.2L L86 V8 has nothing to do with the EcoTec3 engine line or its production. It also has nothing to do with the outgoing inventory of GMT900 vehicles.
The problem has to do with the availability of axles. The main supplier for the units made a bunch but with a defect, making them unusable. Now it can’t sell those and doesn’t have the money to make new ones. GM is working with that supplier as well as the secondary one for the axles. All should be resolved by November or December.
