Posting an update to my experience here:

Location: Houston, TX

Early April 2022, started shopping for a refreshed Sierra 1500 AT4. One of the dealership here had a truck that had just been produced and VIN number assigned – so I signed a contract on it and was told the truck was marked as “Pre-Sold”. I was told at the time it could take between 3-6 weeks to get it here from Silao, MX.

Late May, the truck still wasn’t here and the only update we could get was that the truck was still “Pending Dispatch” without any hint as to when it would actually ship.

I ended up LinkedIn stalking GM executives and messaging them explaining my situation and asked if they could point me in the right direction to someone who could figure out why the truck was sitting at the factory for so long. It actually worked!! Someone reached out to me with updates and added my truck to a priority list to get it moved.

The truck left the MX plant in early July and took roughly 2 weeks being shipped by Rail Car to make it from Silao up to Houston. Once in Houston, it took another couple of days to be unloaded and actually arrive to the dealership.

I picked it up last night and had no issues whatsoever. The dealership honored my deal, kept my trade value and went smooth as butter.

It was a very frustrating process but totally worth the wait!!
