This is the new reality of the new automotive industry. It’s not exclusive to GM.
As having the freshest products become more important from a competitive standpoint, everyone will begin making changes and updates to vehicles in the middle of a model year (called slipstreaming).
My take: GM Authority had a whole write-up and several takes on when the new 8-speeds wouid land. I don’t want to say that you should have been following and known better… but you shouud have been following and should have known better. And @bondo shouud expect to pay less for his Denali than those will get an 8-speed unit. Now, maybe he wants to pay more and get the 8-speed. This is up to him.
