Ok. So you went to Best Buy and ordered a “XYZ” flat panel TV. Now, you’re asking XYZ to give you order tracking. It doesn’t work that way. Not only does GM not really give a hoot about individual purchasers, they recognize, behave, and stand firmly behind the fact we are not GM’s customers! GM’s customers are the dealers. We are the customers of the dealers. Not only do they have no obligation to tell us the status of any order or production request, they make darn certain everyone in the company is equally aware we are only an annoyance. When complaints are voiced, filed, emailed, etc., GM sends them off to the dealer to resolve. If GM (or a GM employee) lies, miscommunicates or simply makes up an answer and the dealer parrots that to a purchaser, the purchaser has no recourse against GM. You must seek resolution from the dealer…who subsequently may seek resolution from GM but likely will not because, if they do, they’ll likely not be a GM dealer by tomorrow. So, don’t expect GM to allow you to track what you ordered from a dealer … not only do they not want that level of transparency, you are not their customer in the first place (and they most certainly treat y’all that way.)
