The service adviser and technician were not able to find the root cause today, so the vehicle has been kept at the dealership for more investigation tomorrow. There seems to be a conflict in the technical repair instructions on whether to replace the sensor or not based on error code history. They could not duplicate any of the error codes during a road test , but I did once during a four-mile drive to the dealership this morning. I told him to replace the sensor. He was going to contact some GM engineering source before doing that.
The incidents of the brakes being applied when approach trucks happened on the straight stretches of I-75 between Detroit and Toledo.
I wish that there was a fail-safe mode allowing you to turn off the “adaptive” cruise and allow a regular cruise function to work.
Needless to say, I am not happy that after an entire day at the dealership there was no solution.
