Dealer should have provided you with your order# immediately on the order date. You need to demand it. We received the 6 letter order number, together with printed order configuration, by email from the dealer on the order date. Our order was for a ’21 Chevy Tahoe Premier in mid-March and were told to expect 8-12 weeks for delivery. We are in week 17 now. Called dealer at least 1x/month, no build date issued…no indication from manufacturer as to when. Only info so far is no Premiers are being built at this time due to chip shortages. I guess GM’s poor planning and just-in-time inventory systems are part of the massive problem. We just didn’t realize how critically fragile our economic system was until situations like this reveal how unprepared our country is. Was at my local Chevy dealer yesterday for service the giant new and used car parking lot looked like a vehicle ghost town. The lack of any manufacturer communication to the dealer is frustrating. And today GM Authority posted this, “Chevy Tahoe And Suburban Sales Post Best First-Half Performance Since 2008”!! Where is mine?
