I have the same problem!! I came from a 2010 escalade esv, now they don’t even have a blu-ray player at all!!
I have had my 2021 GMC Yukon Denali XL for about 2 weeks and the other day I decided to ride in the back and use a fire stick and see how it was going to go when I travel with my grandkids…. well besides the fact the 3rd row now does not get any screen at all (I guess you are only suppose to have 2 kids), YES the screens turned off at every red light and they DO NOT reconnect so I would have to find a place to pull over on the highway with screaming kids yelling their show is off, (DANGEROUS!) and reconnect from the start of a the fire stick menu all over again. So I have to remember to turn the TURN OFF THE auto stop EVERY time. This needs to be fixed to at least make it to be OFF by default not ON by default!!! (The same with the auto dim bright lights, they now make you turn it on EVERY single time, crazy!!!)
I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had time to play more with the screens but I plan on it this weekend. I’ve heard they are nightmares when trying to transfer content from your phone also, so I guess I’m going to learn what they are talking about soon, ugh! My dealer is not much help, they just kind of act like they have no idea about anything! I do know that Android auto constantly disconnects from the screen and won’t reconnect without having to connect again yourself as well. Mine is having some others issues as well, but I’ll keep this concerning the back screens.
If you hear anyway to make the auto turn off be default to keep the back screens on will you post your update? And I will too if I find a solution.
