When we think about it, the shifter is a way of putting the vehicle into the drive gear. It’s a functional piece of technology for driving the vehicle. In that regard, the push-button shifter does a better job in doing that because it:
1. Frees up interior space.
2. Eliminates any negative NHV qualities (since it’s completely digital).
3. Can be operated faster and with more accuracy than the column shifter.
So that’s three reason for… and so far zero reasons against.
