Such issues can cause dangerous situations on the road. That’s why I always check my car and trailer before long trips. Especially, when you are abroad. For instance, driving in France for Americans isn’t a big issue if you are older than 18 (21 in case you need to rent a car) and have a license for at least a year. But still you have to pay lots of attention to the state of your car.
