Even thou the car is over the 5 year warranty, I believe it is in your best interest to return to the dealership. They need to confirm internal mechanical failure (not complete engine teardown) . you can also talk to GM customer service, Even if you need to authorize $200? Diagnoses. Get the car to the dealer ASAP, If you can get reduced repair cost it WILL be less if you wait ! Don’t do anything to the car before dealership service can diagnose the car!
