The all new 2017 Acadia Denali is what I have. The horn is incredibly stiff and on some points of pressure almost non functioning.
Have had a terrible time with GM on this. The dealership called it “normal” for a new car. I submitted a video doing a “pinky” test on every model in the showroom – plus ford, Nissan and Chrysler show rooms. Every horn could be easily sounded using the only the pinky finger – except the Acadia. The 2017 Acadia needs heel of the hand whacking at the horn to make it work. Even then it misfires if you don’t get it right. My wife is petite and cannot use it with certainty that it will work when needed.
I am in a holding pattern for 30 days until GM responds with a possible remedy.
For us it is a safety issue.
Don’t get me wrong, the 2017 Acadia is a sweet driving vehicle. But he QC at GMC appears to be in need of life support. I had muffler stuffing trail out of the tail pipe on day 1. Day 4, the fuel pump and sensor needed replacing. Now there is a recall on negative ground or something – the dealership just mentioned it last week, but gave no details.
The strange thing is, there does not seem to be any standards for horn pressure/resistance? Seems odd for a safety mechanism.
