It’s not the iPod! It’s the system. I don’t think they put enough memory in it and it struggles to index a large number of files. I’m using an iPod Touch 128gb now and it’s better than the Classic in that it doesn’t lock up constantly but it’s a real pain. Sometimes you drive 5 minutes before the song you were last jamming to comes back on. If you’re in shuffle mode on a playlist, when you restart, it’s not on shuffle so you’re going to start hearing same songs again. Sometimes during playback, it just loses the iPod and says no device found. But you can unplug and restart iPod and turn radio to another source or on/off and it still won’t see it. Have to stop vehicle and restart to get it connected again. I’ve deleted everything off the unit except the music. No apps, no photos. It’s just stupid! Shouldn’t have to deal with this in a modern vehicle. The iPod has been out in some form or another for 17 years!
