Well, based on my experience, I can’t give you a very optimistic prognosis.
After having both the HMI and radio modules replaced in my car, it still doesn’t work. Not with the iPod Classic (which, inexplicably, is no longer supported), nor with the iPhone 6S or iPod Touch I bought because they said it would work. Even odder is that it worked fine for 7 or so months, after an initial glitch with the iPod fixed by an update that addressed it.
Not sure why some of these systems work with these devices, some do then stop and others don’t at all. Makes no sense. But, I can tell you GM seems to have no answers, try as they have with my car, unfortunately.
