Hi Gang!
I’ve been searching around trying to find the ‘why’ of my situation.
I have 2016 Canyon and a 180GB iPod Classic – which is old but still works. It connects and I’m playing tunes from it….When I ‘browse’ for playlists on the 8″ screen, I can find all my playlists just fine as expected. It works!! I have the most-up-to-date Android Auto update.
When I use hands free….. “Audio, My media”. – “Playlists”. “**insert playlist name here”. She’ll often find the playlist and say “Is that correct?” I’ll say….YES. After that – she’ll often say “The contact is not available at this time”. Sometimes it’ll work…she’ll say “Playing” and it’ll start playing.
Why is she saying the ‘content is not available at this time”? When I can play it by browsing/selecting it thru the 8″ screen.
It’s soooo inconsistent – like a moody old lady. So, when she’s not in the mood, I have to pick my playlists using the 8″ screen. THis is no big deal, but hey….it’s hands free, I want it to work.
I called GM customer service and they told me it had something to do with 3rd party music, but this doesn’t explain the inconsistency and the fact it works thru the screen selections. I tried to check to see if one playlist was to blame…Not the case. I have an iPhone that is connected to the truck at he same time. I even thought it was ‘confused’ of which media (iPod or iPhone) to chose from since I have the exact same playlists on both devices. I even renamed the playlists on the iPhone to troubleshoot. No go…..
It’s a shame – the hands free is pretty awesome if/when it wants to work!! I’ve also read about tags…and other things. I don’t wanna mess too much with our music setup/system/iTunes. Everything else in our ‘life’ works perfectly…..
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!
Or…..I need to just ‘get over it’ LOL
