I’m having a similar issue with the iPod (and iPhone) with my 2016 Cadillac CTS’ CUE system. More on that here: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-user-experience-cue/856746-2016-cadillac-cue-ipod-iphone-issues.html

After have a Field Service Engineer come and look at my car, the response is that the CUE does not support the iPod Classic. Indeed, it would seem that they have set about to engage in some serious revisionism, in that the online owners manual has been modified from my printed manual to remove all reference to iPods or other devices. See more on that here: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-user-experience-cue/881218-beware-gm-cadillac-playing-games-ipod.html

I specifically asked which devices would work, and was told iPod Touch. So, I went and bought one of those today and it is actually worse (with different types of dysfunction than the iPod Classic, but similar to what the iPhone 6 does).

GM is clearly trying to hide behind the failure of their system to work with the standard of USB music storage (Apple devices) by intentionally obscuring which devices are intended to be compatible so, when they don’t work, they can say, “Well, they aren’t supposed to!”

I have the Field Service Engineer and District Manager coming back to town to meet me next Friday. The dealer has been as helpful as they can be, but this is clearly a software program or a hardware/system issue beyond their ability to fix it.

Would welcome input from others. This is really ridiculous.

P.S. I’ve been seriously pondering getting a new Vette, which I love, but this problem and knowing I’d have the same issues there most likely have shelved that notion.
