That’s strange. I was able to get both a 60gb Video iPod and a last model 160gb Classic to work with this modification. As I understand it, the GM interface starts to read the data volume, then chokes. It may be worth one last attempt where you wipe all data, restore the iPod to factory settings, then make sure that the mass storage feature is off. Then add a playlist. It’s been a couple years since I last worked on this, but I think that may have been my full workflow.
