Ok I am back. Need to find more reviews of the new 2016 Camaro 2.0L Turbo. Searching the internet like a mofo for 2016 Camaro 2.0L Turbo! Randy Probst and Carlos Logo are you out there? Need u to do an ignition head 2 head on the 2016 Ecoboost mustang and a 2016 Camaro 2.0L Turbo…
Not to worry Camaro enthusiast, starting the turbo spool at 3000rpm is not bad. 1400rpm is much better from a dig but as long as u are aware of this u can race accordingly. Just mash the gas pedal to the floor on a dig and let the drag radials do their job. U understand what I mean? At the track a 2016 ecoboost does not need to rev the engine from the start, just punch it when the light turns green, and the Honeywell/Garrett T04z will spool no less than 10psi from 1400rpm to 6500rpm in first gear. Cant make 20psi in first gear though. Only in 2nd gear can you get to 20psi. To combat this, do a short shift from 1st to 2nd and achieve 10psibefore 2000rpms. Check out my videos on youtube on how to do this.
As far as the camaro goes I am sure Chevorlet will shut down production to introduce a smaller exhaust side inducer, to lower the powercurve on the factory turbos. Chevorlet installed a turbo which has a large exhaust inducer which will allow the 2.0L Turbo engine to make max horsepower at the 7000rpm range. Over time, the current batch 2.0L turbos may see a shortlife span depending the the driving habits of the owner. Sure the car will produce alot of HP at the top end., but you have to consider the curve on a dyno chart. The ecoboost mustangs start off at 1000rpms and makes 10psi on a 1st to 2nd short shift which will produce 20psi in 2nd gear for the ecoboost. The Camaro 2.0L turbo must use drag radial tires to get the power to the ground at 3000rpm. There is alot of torque at 3000rpm and the transmission gearing will keep u above 3000rpm on each shift . So not to worry. Just make sure you have some drag radials at the track to keep up with the 2016 ecoboost mustangs. As far as the 2015 ecoboost owners, you must bow down to the 2.0L Turbo camaro, cause chevorlet made the new camaro turbo to compete with the 2016 mustang, and totally kill a stock 2015 ecoboost mustang.
2015 ecoboost mustang owners must do upgrades to keep up with the new 2.0L turbo camaro. Where as a 2016 ecoboost mustang owner can compete head to head with a 2016 Camaro turbo counterpart. It is very important to note that the camaro spooling at 3000rpm is not a big deal as long as you have a HEALTHY set of drag radial tires to handle the torque produced by camaro at 3000rpm..
For the record the 2016 Ecoboost mustang is a monster. Seriously, it is a mofo monster. I raced a 500hp z06 from a 50mph roll and killed it at 120mph, I pulled hard on him to 130mph. He gave me a thumbs up.. I thanked in kind for the race. So be aware Corvette owners, an inline 4 or inline 6 corvette is on its way. As soon as Chevy sells no less than 100,000 2.0L turbos Camaros, I am positive they have an inline 4 or 6 for the corvette line up. If they are smart, they will pay attention to this blog and start production ASAP!
