Reply To: MyLink Stopped Recognizing iPod Classic

I have a 2015 Corvette which says it supports ALL iPods including Classic. My 2012 supported a Classic flawlessly and it stayed plugged into the car until I sold it. This one looses it’s signal in some cases, starts over on the play list every time you stop the car and restart it, and the “shuffle” will not stay on shuffle in the car’s system. That’s only a few of the problems I have encountered over the past year.

I have taken the car to the dealer 4 times and nothing. This dealer is very good and has Corvette specialists. They can’t really say that this is a major problem for GM, but I think it is. One thing gets fixed and something else fails. I am in the last stages of calling GM and talked to a problem solving person high up. Her answer to me was that the iPod does not work properly with their system and there is no fix. Her offer to me was to give me a year of Sirius free….. Even though the manual that came with my car states specifically that it will work with iPod Classic and all other iPods in existence. Now I believe that the on-lline manuals have taken that statement out.

I also have an email from an Infotainment Specialist that states how to fix the problem and starts with “The iPod Classic is a supported device and should work properly with your vehicle.”

I have also contacted Apple and they have no problems with other systems and their hardware/software. The dealer believes that it is a software problem with the Infotainment system and that GM as not stepped up to fix it.

I have fought this problem for one year, made trips to the dealer (80 miles round trip), and get the stall from GM on the phone or they tell me to take the car back to the dealer. I have told them time after time I don’t care if they can’t fix the one in my car, just give me one that works, even if it’s an after market one. They refuse….. and the stall goes on.

I would like to know how many people are having this problem as I am considering contacting a lawyer.
