You should order ASAP!
Here is a good one. I ordered a truck – 2500HD double cab back in October. I was told it would arrive in 10-12 weeks. At 10 weeks I called to check status and was told the salesman I ordered from was no longer with the dealership. I was then transferred to another salesman who looked at the order. He told me it had a status code of “99” and he didn’t know what that was. He said he would call back after he checked on Monday.
Can anyone tell me what “99” is?
After he didn’t call back I called the dealer and asked for the sales manager. A week later I then got a call from a salesman who told me that he would be taking over the order> He tried to find me another truck in inventory but I told him I ordered the truck I wanted and I just wanted a status. He said he would check and keep me posted.
Two weeks went by and no calls. I then fired off some emails to the owner of the dealership and the sales managers. In 15 minutes I got a call from the sales manager who told me that there was some sort of shutdown over the holidays and he would check on the order as soon as he could. This is now 16 weeks from the deposit I put down and the original order. He called me back and said there is no “TPW” listed yet and when there is it will be 6-12 weeks out. He claims the order was accepted. Does this mean the original order was lost and this is on a re-order?
Which brings me back to my original question… What is a code “99”?
