You guys are not alone! I’ve been dealing with this since taking delivery of my 2015 Yukon in June 2014! I have (3) Classic iPod 160s that lock up between 3 and 9 songs every time I start it up. Once locked, I have to unplug and reboot the unit. These units are all shown in the manual to be compatible and just won’t work. I keep one in our ’11 Maxima as a music server and it works perfectly. I have 14,000 songs and probably 60 playlists. The only mention in the manual references not being able to use voice to access songs with that many and it mentions no more than like 8 folder depths. I’m only 4 or 5. It’s insane they can’t fix this. It’s definitely a software issue and I suspect, a lack of enough RAM memory issue. My iPhone 6 worked a little better so when the 120gb iPod Touch came out last fall, I rushed to Apple to get one. Nope, different issues but it won’t play consistently. It turns on repeat on the iPod almost everytime I cycle the ignition meaning, a playlist will start over with repeats. It also takes FOREVER to come online after the vehicle has sat an hour or so. After a few restarts of the vehicle while a playlist is running, it jumps to the AAA song on the iPod. I’ve had the HMI replaced, software updated and tried another ’15 on their lot-same crap. Somebody in software needs to jump on this!
