similar problem with 2015 Suburban and 4th generation ipod nano which worked perfectly in 2010 model Suburban. Media player does not recognize ipod at all, OR will bring it up and play but display does not advance as songs do. All playlists and songs are abel to be brought up manually. Older nano not recognized at all, period. Display sometimes says “no media available”. The “fix” I stumbled upon was to manually advance through a number of songs and/or playlists once ipod was recognized and playing. After that function will be proper for a while and then the problem begins again. Techs at dealership caught the thing in the recognize ipod mode and before hooking up diagnostics manually advanced through a number of songs. They had inadvertently stumbled onto the same fix I did later. So in essence while they had it, it was “fixed”. The thing thereafter worked normally while in the shop. Software all up to date and no malfunctions showed up on the tests. Was advised have to get vehicle to techs while the problem is active, and leave car running when I come in and THEN GET TECH TO HOOK CAR UP. See the logistics problem here?
Apparently there is something wrong with the mylink system across several models which must have the same hardware (radio etc). Does anyone have a GM fix that lasts? My temporary fix like others, un plug and replug USB, or manually cycle through playlists or songs only last a while, which as of today is no more than a part of a 24 hour day. WHAT IS THE SOLUTION ANYONE? GM?
