The 2021 GMC Terrain receives the following changes and updates:
Model Line
- Denali models will have late availability for the 2021 model year
- Includes FWD Denali (TXN26) and AWD Denali (TXD26)
Exterior
- Deletion of Smokey Quartz Metallic exterior color option
Mechanical
- Deletion of turbocharged 2.0-liter LTG 4-cylinder engine, which also results in the deletion of the following equipment:
- 9-Speed Automatic Transmission (M3H)
- Trailering equipment (V92)
- Factory-installed trailer hitch (VR2)
- 17-inch front and 16-inch rear 4-wheel antilock disc brakes (J17)
- 3.17 axle ratio (FXP)
- Dual-outlet stainless-steel exhaust (NWO)
- 17-inch steel spare wheel (4GO)
- 17-inch compact spare tire (QCL)
Packages
- Driver Alert Package I (B26) has been renamed to GMC Pro Safety Plus (PED) and no longer requires the Convenience Package
- GMC Pro Safety Plus contents
- Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Rear Park Assist
- GMC Pro Safety
- SLE models also include
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Safety Alert Seat
- Outside heated power-adjustable manual-folding body-color mirrors with LED turn signal indicators
- SLT models require Preferred Package, which also includes

- GMC Pro Safety Plus contents
- Deletion of Chrome Package, which was only available for SLT models and included:
- 19-inch machined aluminum wheels with Gray painted accents (PJH)
- Unique chrome grille with chrome surround
- Chrome mirror caps
- Body-color door handles with chrome surround and Bright Chrome side rails
- Was only available with the following exterior colors:
- Graphite Gray Metallic
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Ebony Twilight Metallic
- Summit White
- Red Quartz Metallic
- Was not available with the following:
- Elevation Edition
- Bright Accent Package (LPO-level item)
- Dark Accent Package (LPO-level item)
