Production of the 2025 GMC Sierra HD began on August 19th, 2024. The trucks are produced at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.

The 2025 Sierra HD continues to ride on the heavy duty version of the GM T1 platform.

Seating
The 2024 Sierra HD is offered in three seating configurations, seating either 3, 5 or 6 passengers:
- 3-passenger configuration: this setup features a front split bench seat (providing seating for three)
- 5-passenger configuration: this setup features front bucket seats (providing seating for two), along with a 60/40 folding bench in the rear (seating three) resulting in a 2-3 configuration.
- 6-passenger configuration: this setup features a front split bench seat (providing seating for three), along with a 60/40 folding bench in the rear (seating three) resulting in a 3-3 configuration.
Beyond 2024
We expect the fourth-generation Sierra HD to remain in production through the 2027 model year.
