2019 GMC Sierra 1500

GMC completely overhauled (redesigned and re-engineered) the Sierra 1500 from the ground up for the 2019 model year, marking the start of the nameplate’s fourth-generation.

The automaker first unveiled the Sierra SLT and Sierra Denali models at a special event in Detroit on March 1, 2018.

With broader, more powerful proportions, the 2019 GMC Sierra is larger than its K2 platform predecessor in virtually every dimension. The larger grille and dramatic lighting underscore its dominant stance. The wheels are pushed closer to the corners, and are wrapped in larger tires than the previous model.

“The next generation Sierra Denali has a deliberate, commanding presence,” said Matt Noone, director of design, GMC Exteriors. “Its unmistakable design embodies the essence of GMC, while advancing the brand’s core styling elements — rooted in inherent capability — with a new expression of its signature cues.”

The Sierra 1500 K2 model was sold alongside the all-new T1 model as the Sierra 1500 Limited during the 2019 model year.
