2022 GMC Canyon Changes, Updates, New Features
The 2022 GMC Canyon represents the eighth model year of the second-generation mid-sized pickup truck, and receives the following changes for the 2022 model year:
Interior
- Addition of all-weather floor liners (LPO-level item)
- Wireless cell phone charging is no longer standard on Denali models, and is now an available option
- Remains available on AT4 models
- Still requires Jet Black with Kalahari leather interior
- Remains available on AT4 models
Mechanical
- AT4 models in the Crew Cab Short Box body configuration are now equipped with a standard 17-inch by 8-inch gloss-Black aluminum spare wheel
- For the 2021 model year, such models came equipped with the 17-inch by 8-inch steel spare wheel
- 17-inch by 8-inch steel spare wheel remains standard on:
- Denali models
- Elevation models equipped with 4WD
- Elevation Standard models equipped with 4WD and the 3.6L LGZ V6 or 2.8L LWN I4 Turbo-Diesel Duramax
- Available on 2WD Elevation and Elevation Standard models equipped with the 3.6L LGZ V6 or 2.8L LWN I4 Turbo-Diesel Duramax
Packages
- Addition of Denali Black Edition Package, which is only offered on Denali models
- Includes the following LPO-level items:
- 20-inch aluminum, low gloss Black (RZO) wheels
- Black, 5-inch rectangular assist steps
- GMC Black Chrome Exhaust Tip
- All Weather Floor Liners
- Deletes the following equipment:
- 5-inch chrome production assist steps
- Standard polished exhaust tip
- Deletes carpeted front and rear floor mats
- Requires the following equipment:
- Onyx Black exterior color
- Jet Black interior
- Not available with:
- 2.8L LWN I4 Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine
- Power Package (LPO-level item)
- Cat-Back Performance Exhaust Upgrade System (LPO-level item)
- All-weather floor mats (LPO-level item)
- All-weather floor liners (LPO-level item)
- Includes the following LPO-level items:
