The GMC Acadia AT4 crossover entered the market for the 2020 model year, featuring bold styling cues, including a black chrome-accented grille, add a rugged, off-road-inspired design to the Acadia range. The looks match the now-familiar AT4 theme, however, the Acadia AT4 model does not feature front red tow hooks, which are found on the Sierra 1500 AT4, Sierra HD AT4, Canyon AT4, and Yukon AT4 models.
The tried-and-true 3.6L LGX V6 engine – producing 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque – is paired with a twin clutch AWD system, both of which are standard on the Acadia AT4. Unique 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires are also standard, with 20-inch wheels available.
As GM Authority reported, the rough-and-ready AT4 is the fastest-turning trim level in the GMC Acadia lineup, spending just 37 days on dealer lots before being sold.
For the 2021 model year, 6-passenger seating became standard on GMC Acadia AT4 models, with 7-passenger seating and 5-passenger seating being optional. Notably, for the 2022 model year, the 5-passenger seating option has been dropped. Another notable change for the 2021 model year includes the addition of the GMC Pro Safety Plus Package as standard content, which replaced Driver Alert Package II, and includes the following features:

- Front Pedestrian Braking
- IntelliBeam headlamps
- Front and Rear Park Assist
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Following Distance Indicator
- Forward Collision Alert
