Production
The 2025 GMC Acadia is assembled by GM USA at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.
Platform
Like all third-generation units of the GMC Acadia, the 2025 Acadia continues to ride on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform (or “Chi”), but with various updates. The architecture is referred to internally within GM as C1-2, with the “2” referring to an iteration of the platform.
GM’s state-of-the-art Global B electrical architecture handles the digital communications.
Seating
The 2025 Acadia is offered in two seating configurations:
- Seven-passenger configuration: this setup features front bucket seats providing seating for two, second row flat-folding captain’s chairs with Smart Slide providing seating for two, and a manual-folding 60/40 split bench in the third row providing seating for three, resulting in a 2-2-3 seating configuration.
- This setup is optional on Elevation and standard on AT4 and Denali
- Eight-passenger configuration: this setup features front bucket seats providing seating for two, second row flat-folding bench providing seating for three, and a 60/40 split bench in the third row providing seating for three, resulting in a 2-3-3 seating configuration.
- This configuration is standard on Elevation and is new for the 2025 model year
Beyond 2025
We expect production of the third-generation GMC to run at least through the 2030 model year, at which point the nameplate will likely transition to a battery electric powertrain.
