Historic Timeline & Milestones

Having opened in 1956, GM Colmotores was the first assembly plant in Colombia. Since then, the plant has assembled more than 1 million vehicles and is the second biggest industrial company in the country, generating about 1,300 direct and 16,000 indirect jobs.

In 2013, the GM Colombia plant launched the first vehicle body manufacturing plant in Colombia.

The plant has supported Chevrolet’s ascent to be Colombia’s best-selling automotive brand for 29 consecutive years.
