The GM 2908 at Communitech is a facility located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada named to display a vision of General Motors 1,000 years after the company’s Canadian founding in 1908.
GM is the first automotive company in Canada to establish a lab presence at the leading Waterloo-based accelerator, where it “plans to knock down old approaches, find new partners and boldly go where future mobility is headed.”
Areas of focus for GM Canada teams at Communitech include exploring and experimenting with advanced smartphone applications and new ride-sharing services and approaches. The team also works on partnering opportunities to incubate new ideas for urban, multi-modal transportation systems that combine public transit and ride-sharing.
