OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics is a feature that notifies vehicle owners of the health and status of their vehicle.
Also referred to as OVD, OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics can run a thorough check of a vehicle’s various systems, including its engine, transmission, antilock brakes and more.
On-Demand Diagnostics Check
OVD can also perform an on-demand diagnostics check when the vehicle is being driven. To perform an on-demand check, simply press the blue OnStar button and ask an advisor to run a vehicle diagnostics check on the vehicle.
Diagnostics Alerts
Diagnostic Alerts enable owners to receive a monthly diagnostic report or to be notified of their vehicle’s condition in real-time, by email or text.

Proactive Alerts
Proactive Alerts can predict potential issues with key vehicle components and send owners alerts via email and/or text.
