General Motors Auto Vehicle Hold Braking Technology

Auto Vehicle Hold Braking is a General Motors chassis technology that prevents forward or rearward vehicle creep when the driver’s foot is off the brake.

How It Works

In situations such as stop-and-go traffic or when the vehicle is on a steep grade, Auto Vehicle Hold Braking prevents the vehicle from creeping forward or rearward when all of the following conditions are met:

  • The vehicle is in a forward gear
  • The driver’s foot is off the brake
  • Active Vehicle hold is enabled

To note, Auto Vehicle Hold is a driver-selectable feature and can be disabled.

Benefits

Auto Vehicle Hold Braking reduces fatigue during heavy stop-and-go traffic and improves vehicle control on steep grades.

Vehicle Availability

Auto Vehicle Hold is standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum trim levels of the Cadillac CT6.
