Future Chevrolet Caprice

We do not expect a future or next Chevrolet Caprice following the model’s discontinuation in 2017.

Following is speculative and unconfirmed information. This page is a continuous work-in-progress and will be updated on a regular basis based on any details from General Motors and Chevrolet.

If you notice any inaccuracies about the information provided, or have edits to suggest, please let us know here.

Overview

Chevrolet initially discontinued the Caprice nameplate in North America in the 1990s, after the fourth-generation Chevy Caprice went out of production 1996. Then, in 2009, GM announced plans to re-introduced the Caprice as a limited vehicle for the police. Imported from GM’s Holden division in Australia, the full-size sedan was known as the Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV) and was sold only to law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and Canada. The Caprice PPV was discontinued in 2017, since the GM-Holden Elizabeth plant that produced the vehicle shut down in October 2017.

As such, we do not expect General Motors to introduce a new model with the Caprice name any time soon.
