The 2020 Chevrolet Traverse gets several updates, changes and new features:
Exterior
- Exterior colors:

- Deletion of two wheel types:
- 20-inch machined face aluminum wheels with Technical Gray pockets (SP6)
- 20-inch Argent Metallic machine faced aluminum wheels (SLY)
- Addition of two wheel types:
- 20-inch machined face aluminum wheels with Technical Gray pockets (Q6S)
- 20-inch Argent Metallic machine faced aluminum wheels (Q6T)
- New center cap design on 20-inch Dark Android painted aluminum wheels (SS9)
- Deletion of two wheel types:
- Deletion of upper and lower active aero shutters previously standard on all models except for High Country
- Deletion of upper active aero shutters previously on High Country models
- Addition of Keyless Entry Keypad with all-new vertical design, 5-digit programmable keypad located on driver-side B-pillar as LPO-level option
Interior
- Replacement of last-generation Chevrolet Infotainment systems with new Chevrolet Infotainment system 3:
- Chevrolet Infotainment System with 7-inch diagonal color touch-screen (IOA) replaced by Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen (IOR) on L, LS and LT Cloth models
- Chevrolet Infotainment System with 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen (IO5) replaced by Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with 8-inch diagonal HD color touchscreen (IOS) on LT cloth (optional) and LT leather (standard)
- Chevrolet Infotainment System with Navigation and 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen (IO6) replaced by Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with connected Navigation and 8-inch diagonal HD color touchscreen (IOT) on LT leather (optional) and RS, Premier and High Country (standard)
Technology
- Surround Vision replaced by HD Surround Vision
- Rear Vision Camera replaced by HD Rear Vision Camera
- Addition of trailering assist guidelines
- Assist of Hitch Guidance with Hitch View
Mechanical
- Deletion of turbo-charged 2.0L I-4 LTG engine (deleted mid-2019 model year), which was previously standard on Traverse RS
- This motor is replaced by 3.6 V-6 LFY engine on RS FWD model
- Deletion of 155 amp alternator (KW8)
- The 155 amp alternator was previously packaged with the turbo 2.0L LTG engine
- The deletion of the 155 amp alternator leaves the 170 amp alternator as standard across the board in the Traverse
- Deletion of auxiliary electric heater (C32)
- Trailering equipment is now available on RS FWD (V92) and includes:
- Heavy-duty cooling system
- Trailer hitch
- Trailering assist guidelines

- Deletion of Premium Carpet Mat Package (LPO-level PCV)
- Driver Confidence II Package (BGP) is now standard on 1FL, 2FL, 2LT and Premier and available on 1LT and 3LT
- Was standard on Premier AWD and available on Premier FWD in 2019 Traverse
- Driver Confidence II Package (BGP) now includes automatic heated steering wheel (KI3) on 1LT, 3LT, 2LT and 1LZ models; the package also includes:
- Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking
- Forward Collision Alert
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Following Distance Indicator
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- IntelliBeam headlamps
- Note: package exclusive to Premier models
- Convenience and Driver Confidence Package (ZL3) now includes:
- Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with 8-inch diagonal HD color touchscreen (IOS), replacing Chevrolet Infotainment with 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen (IO5)
- Also includes:

- LT Premium Package (CXH) on 3LT and 2LT now includes:
- Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system with connected Navigation and 8-inch diagonal HD color touchscreen (IOT), replacing Chevrolet Infotainment System with Navigation and 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen (IO6)
- HD Surround Vision (UV2), replacing Surround Vision
- Also includes:
- Bose premium 10-speaker system
- Rear Camera Mirror
- 120-volt power outlet
- LT Premium Package on 3LT (CXH) now includes 20-inch machined face aluminum wheels with Technical Gray pockets (Q6S) on 3LT, replacing 20-inch machined face aluminum wheels with Technical Gray pockets (SP6)
- Automatic heated steering wheel (KI3) is now included in Driver Confidence II Package (BGP) on 1LT and 3LT and is now standard on 2LT
- For the 2020 model year, this feature was only standard on Premier and High Country models
- Interior Protection Package (LPO PDH) and Floor Liner Package (LPO PDF) now available to order with horizontal cargo net, (LPO WH6)
- Interior Protection Package includes:
- First and second row all-weather floor mats
- Third row all-weather floor mats
- All-weather cargo mat
- Floor Liner Package
- Front and second row all-weather floor liner
- Third row all-weather floor liner
- Integrated cargo liner
- Interior Protection Package includes:
- Blackout Package (LPO PDB) now includes Black fog lamp trim (LPO 55W) on LT and Premier, in addition to the following:
- Black finish grille
- Front and rear Black bowtie emblems
- Black rear license plate applique
- Gloss Black emblem kit
