The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD represents the sixth model year of the fourth-generation full-size heavy duty pickup and chassis cab truck, for which it receives a variety of changes.

This follows the 2020 Silverado 3500 HD, which received a complete overhaul (re-engineering and redesign), followed by a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 Silverado 3500 HD.

Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2025 Silverado 3500 HD receives a variety of changes headlined by the deletion of two exterior colors, the addition of the Trail Boss package, and changes in the availability of certain safety features.

Powertrain

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD carries over the 6.6L gasoline and 6.6L turbo-diesel Duramax engines plus their respective 10-speed automatic transmissions from the 2024 model year.

Towing

The 2025 Silverado 3500 HD tows a minimum of 14,500 pounds and a maximum of 20,000 pounds via a traditional hitch, depending on drivetrain and body configuration.

Production

The 2025 Silverado 3500 HD continues to be produced at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and at the GM Oshawa plant in Canada. Production of 2025 models began on August 5th, 2024 and ended on August 8th, 2025.

Platform

The 2025 Silverado 3500 HD continues to ride on a variant of the GM T1 platform modified for heavy duty pickup trucks. Otherwise known as GMT-T1 or T1XX, the architecture is designed for pickup trucks and body-on-frame SUVs.

Pricing for the 2025 Silverado 3500 HD starts at $48,495, including the $1,995 destination freight charge.

Seating

The 2025 Silverado 3500 HD is offered in three seating configurations, seating either three, five or six passengers.

  • Three-passenger configuration: this setup features a front 40/20/40 split bench seat (providing seating for three)
    • Exclusive to Regular Cab models
  • Five-passenger configuration (2-3): this setup features bucket seats in the front row (providing seating for two), along with a 60/40 bench seat in the second row (seating three), resulting in a 2-3 seating configuration
    • Available on LT and LTZ. Standard on ZR2 and High Country.
  • Six-passenger configuration: this setup features a 40/20/40 split bench seat in the front row (providing seating for three), along with a 60/40 bench seat in the second row (seating three), resulting in a 3-3 seating configuration

Beyond 2025

We expect the fourth-generation Silverado 3500 HD to remain in production through the 2027 model year, at which point it will be overhauled for a new generation for the 2028 model year.
