Platform
The 2024 Silverado 3500 HD Chassis Cab will continue to ride on a more capable version of the GM T1 platform, modified for heavy duty pickup trucks. Otherwise known as GMT-T1 or T1XX, the architecture is designed for pickup trucks and body-on-frame SUVs.
Seating
The 2024 Silverado 3500 HD Chassis Cab is offered in three seating configurations, seating either three, five or six passengers:
- Three-passenger configuration: this setup features a front 40/20/40 split bench seat (providing seating for three)
- Five-passenger configuration: this setup features bucket seats in the front row (providing seating for two), along with a 60/40 bench seat in the second row (seating three), resulting in a 2-3 seating configuration
- This configuration requires Convenience Package (PCL) and is only available on the LT trim level.
- Six-passenger configuration: this setup features a 40/20/40 split bench seat in the front row (providing seating for three), along with a 60/40 bench seat in the second row (seating three), resulting in a 3-3 seating configuration

Uses
Chassis Cab trucks are typically used by commercial firms as platforms upon which to build (upfit) their desired application. Examples include a utility vehicle, dump truck or flat frame configuration.
Beyond 2024
We expect the fourth-generation Silverado HD, including the Chassis Cab, to remain in production through the 2027 model year.
