2024 Chevrolet Malibu Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2024 Chevrolet Malibu receives a few small changes for the ninth model year of the nameplate’s ninth generation.

These changes follow the overhauled (redesigned and re-engineered) 2016 Malibu and the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu, which received a mid-cycle refresh, followed by minor changes for the 2020 Malibu, 2021 Malibu, 2022 Malibu and 2023 Malibu.

Model Line

  • No changes

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Malibu is available in the following trims:

  • LS, which breaks out into two equipment groups:
    • 1FL (fleet/commercial sales)
    • 1LS (retail sales)
  • RS
  • 1LT
  • 2LT

Exterior

  • Deletion of two exterior colors:
    • Dark Ash Metallic (G6M)
    • Riverside Blue Metallic (GKK)

  • Addition of one exterior color:
    • Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP)

Lakeshore Blue Metallic

  • Body-color outside power-adjustable mirrors (DL6) are now standard on 1LS
    • For the 2023 model year, this was optional on 1LS

  • No changes

Mechanical

  • No changes

Packages

  • Deletion of two packages:
    • Convenience Package 1 (PDQ)
      • Availability: for the 2023 model year, the package was only available on LS and RS trims
      • Content / features:
        • Remote start kit (S6P)
        • Cargo net (W2D)
    • Convenience Package 2 (PCM)
      • Availability: for the 2023 model year, the package was only available on LS and RS trims
      • Content / features:
        • Remote start kit (S6P)
        • Cargo net (W2D)
        • All-weather floor mats (VAV)
  • Deletion of Remote start kit (S6P)
    • Availability: for the 2023 model year, the package was only offered on PDQ, PCM, and PDB packages
      • For the 2024 model year, remote start has been incorporated into the Malibu as a feature, optional on 1FL and standard on all remaining trims
  • Driver Confidence Package (WPR) now only includes Rear Park Assist (UD7) and is now standard on all trims and optional on 1FL
    • On 1FL, Driver Confidence Package (WPR) includes Rear Park Assist (UD7) and power-adjustable, manual-folding, body-color outside power mirrors (DL6)
    • For the 2023 model year, Driver Confidence Package (WPR) included Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert (UKC) as well as Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG)
  • Tire inflator kit (KTI) is now standard on all trim levels
    • For the 2023 model year, this was not an available feature
    • Compact spare tire (ZAM) and 16-inch spare wheel (SFJ) is now an option as part of the road emergency toolkit (V33), which includes 300-amp jumper cables, warning triangle, gas siphon, Mylar blanket for staying warm, two bungee cords, two glow sticks, a pair of gloves with rubber grips, flashlight (two AAA batteries included), 50 PSI tire gauge, plus a carrying case with organizational pockets for securing the contents.
      • Available on all trim levels
      • For the 2023 model year, the road emergency tool kit was standard on all Malibu trim levels, but the vehicle was equipped as standard with the compact spare wheel (SFJ) and compact spare tire (ZAM)
