Production
The 2026 Chevrolet Equinox will continue being produced at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico. Production of the 2026 model year will likely commence in the summer of 2025.
Platform
Like all units of the fourth-generation Chevy Equinox, the 2026 Chevy Equinox is based on the D2-2 architecture, an updated version of the GM D2 platform used by the third-gen Equinox. GM’s Global B electronic architecture facilitates communication between components and systems, while also delivering the ability for over-the-air (OTA) updates to systems and components.
Seating
The 2026 Equinox continues to be offered offered in a single seating configuration, seating five passengers in a 2-3 layout. This configuration consists of front bucket seats (seating two) and a rear 60/40 split-bench seat (seating three).
Beyond 2026
We expect the current, fourth-generation Equinox to remain in production through at least the 2031 model year.
