2019 Chevrolet Equinox Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2019 Chevy Equinox gets the following updates and changes:

  • Exterior:
    • Introduction of two exterior colors:
      • Pacific Blue Metallic
      • Kinetic Blue Metallic
    • Introduction of Lights and Bright Package available on 1LT equipment groups, which includes:
      • 19″ Bright machined wheels with Sparkle Silver pockets
      • 19″ all-season blackwall tires
      • LED headlamps
      • LED tail lamps
      • Chrome grille surround
      • Molded assist steps
    • Replacement of 16″ spare wheel with another 16″ spare wheel
  • Infotainment:
    • Upgrade of Surround Vision system to HD Surround Vision system
    • Upgrade of Rear Vision Camera to HD Rear Vision Camera
    • Upgrade of infotainment systems:
      • Upgrade of 7″ diagonal color touch-screen with Chevrolet MyLink system to 7″ diagonal color touch-screen with Chevrolet Infotainment system for version without navigation
      • Upgrade of 8″ diagonal color touch-screen with Chevrolet MyLink system to 8″ diagonal color touch-screen with Chevrolet Infotainment system for versions with navigation and no navigation, as well as with navigation and greater memory
    • Various changes to USB port availability, including:
      • On L, LS and LT models, the standard single USB port with auxiliary jack (located in the center stack storage area) is replaced with two USB ports with auxiliary jack, which was part of the Infotainment Package on LT models for the 2018 Equinox
      • Premier models get two USB data ports with SD Card Reader and auxiliary jack located within front center storage bin
        • LT models can be configured with this feature when the Infotainment Package is selected
      • On all models, dual USB charging-only ports (located in the rear of the center console) are now standard; for the 2018 Equinox, they were part of the Infotainment Package on LT models and were not available on L or LS models
  • Interior:
    • Deletion of auxiliary 12-volt power outlet in the second row
    • Introduction of LPO-level Interior Enhancement Package, which includes:
      • Premium carpeted floor mats
      • Embroidered front row headrests
    • Replacement of leather-wrapped shift lever with urethane shift lever on both 1LT models and 2LT FWD
      • The leather unit is now available as part of the Driver Convenience Package
    • Removal of overhead sunglass storage as a standard feature on L or LS models
    • Addition of multi-color driver instrument information on LT models, replacing the monochromatic driver instrument information on 2018 Chevrolet Equinox
  • Active Safety:
  • Package changes:
    • Deletion of LPO-level Protection Package, which included all-weather front and rear floor mats and rear custom molded splash guards
    • Availability of Confidence & Convenience Package as an option on the following models:
      • 2LT AWD
      • 3LT FWD
      • 3LT AWD
      • The package was standard on the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and includes:
        • Rear Park Assist
        • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
        • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
        • Outside heated power-adjustable and manual-folding body-color mirrors with turn signal indicators
    • Availability of Confidence & Convenience II Package as an option on the following models:
      • 1LZ (Premier) AWD
      • 2LZ (Premier) AWD
      • The package was standard on the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and includes:
        • Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking
        • Forward Collision Alert
        • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
        • Following Distance Indicator
        • Safety Alert Seat
        • HD Surround Vision
        • Adaptive Cruise Control
        • Front Pedestrian Braking
        • IntelliBeam headlamps
    • Addition of new content to Driver Confidence II Package, which now includes:
      • Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking
      • Forward Collision Alert
      • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
      • Following Distance Indicator
      • Safety Alert Seat
      • HD Surround Vision
      • Adaptive Cruise Control
      • Front Pedestrian Braking
      • IntelliBeam
    • Addition of new content to Infotainment Package, which now includes:
      • 8″ diagonal color touch-screen with Navigation and Chevrolet Infotainment
      • HD Rear Vision Camera
      • 2 USB ports located in front console bin
      • 2 USB data ports, including SD Card Reader and auxiliary input jack located within front center storage bin
      • 120-volt power outlet
    • Addition of new content to Infotainment II Package, which now contains the 8″ diagonal color touch-screen with Navigation and Chevrolet Infotainment, replacing the 8″ diagonal color touch-screen with Navigation and Chevrolet MyLink
    • Driver Convenience Package now includes leather-wrapped shift lever on all 1LT models and 2LT FWD model
    • Sun & Infotainment Package name changed to “Sun & Navigation Package”
    • Rear Vision Camera is no longer standard on Premier, since it’s replaced with HD Rear Vision Camera
  • Fleet-specific changes, including:
    • Introduction of two new fleet-specific equipment groups based on the LT equipment group:
      • 1XR26 FWD 2FL
      • 1XY26 AWD 2FL
    • Introduction of Fleet Safety Package as standard on 2FL equipment groups, which includes:
      • Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking
      • Front Pedestrian Braking
      • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
      • Following Distance Indicator
      • Forward Collison Alert
      • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
      • Intellibeam headlamps
    • Remote Start becomes available on 1LS with a Fleet or Government order type
  • LPO-level changes (LPO is a dealer-intalled accessory produced by GM):
    • LPO-level Chrome Package is no longer available on FWD Premier models
    • LPO-level Cargo Package no longer includes integrated cargo liner, which remains part of Floor Liner Package
    • LPO-level all-weather floor mats are no longer available as a free flow option, but only as part of LPO-level Interior Protection Package
    • LPO-level premium carpeted floor mats is no longer available as a free flow option, but only as part of LPO-level Interior Enhancement Package
    • LPO-level all-weather floor liners is no longer available as a free flow option, but only as part of LPO-level Floor Liner Package

  • (BN2) Fleet Safety Package, includes (UHY) Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking, (UKJ) Front Pedestrian Braking, (UHX) Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, (UE4) Following Distance Indicator, (UEU) Forward Collison Alert, (N34) leather-wrapped steering wheel and (TQ5) Intellibeam headlamps (standard on 2FL equipment groups)

  • (PCV) Confidence & Convenience II Package is now available on 1LZ and 2LZ AWD (was standard in 2018MY)
  • (BGP) Driver Confidence II Package contains new content. Package now includes (UHY) Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking,
  • (UEU) Forward Collision Alert, (UHX) Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, (UE4) Following Distance Indicator, Safety Alert Seat, (UV2) HD Surround Vision, (KSG) Adaptive Cruise Control, (UKJ) Front Pedestrian Braking and (TQ5) IntelliBeam
  • (WPZ) Infotainment Package contains new content.   • (KI2) Urethane shift lever is now standard on both 1LT models and 2LT FWD (replaces [VY7) leather-wrapped shift lever, which is now part of [ZQ2] Driver Convenience Package)
  • (BTV) Remote Start is now available on 1LS with a Fleet or Government order type
  • (UVC) Rear Vision Camera is no longer standard on Premier (replaced with [UVB] HD Rear Vision Camera)
  • (UDC) monochromatic driver instrument information is no longer standard on LT models (replaced with [UDD] multi-color driver instrument information)
  • (USS) Dual USB charging-only ports are now standard on all models (was part of [WPZ] Infotainment Package on LT models and was not available on L or LS in 2018MY)
  • (UST) Dual USB ports are now standard on L, LS and LT models (was part of [WPZ] Infotainment Package on LT models in 2018MY) and are no longer standard on Premier models
  • (VK8) Overhead sunglass storage is no longer standard on L or LS models
  • (PDV) LPO, Chrome Package is no longer available on FWD Premier
  • (PDG) LPO, Cargo Package no longer includes (CAV) LPO, integrated cargo liner ([CAV] remains part of [PEF] LPO, Floor Liner Package)
  • (VAV) All-weather floor mats, LPO is no longer available as a free flow option (only part of [PDH] Interior Protection Package, LPO)
