Expectations
Expected to launch for the 2028 model year, the Chevy Tahoe EV will bring the long-standing and highly popular Tahoe nameplate into the EV era.
The model is expected to ride on the EV-dedicated BT1 platform and will likely be assembled at the GM Factory Zero plant (née GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant) with battery components supplied by a GM Ultium Cells facility.
The Tahoe EV is expected to be available in a single body style – a full-size, five-door SUV. A longer variant is expected to be offered as the Suburban EV. The Tahoe EV is expected to feature three rows of seats and be more spacious than the current internal combustion engined Tahoe as a result of a longer wheelbase.
The U.S. and Canada are expected to be the primary markets for the first-gen model, though it will also be available in select export markets.
