Chevrolet stopped taking orders for the Caprice PPV (Police Patrol Vehicle) at the end of February 2017, and the vehicle ended production in May 2017 as a result of the planned closing of the GM-Holden Elizabeth factory in South Australia where the Caprice is assembled. As such, a 2018 model year Chevrolet Caprice does not exist, since the model ended production in May 19th, 2017, with 2017 being the last model year of the vehicle.
The shuttering of the Holden plant also marks the end of life of other models on GM’s Zeta platform, which was utilized by the Caprice. Other models riding on the Zeta architecture included the Chevrolet SS Sedan, Holden Commodore and Ute.
In total, the Chevrolet Caprice PPV was available for five model years, including 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
