2025 Chevrolet Camaro

The 2025 Chevrolet Camaro does not and will not exist, since the 2024 Camaro represented the final model year of the sixth-gen muscle car. However, not all is lost, given that GM and Chevrolet have signaled that the Camaro story is not over.

Next-Gen Camaro

As previously reported by GM Authority, Chevrolet has signaled that a replacement is in the works.

On March 22nd, 2023, Chevy confirmed that the 2024 model year will be the last of the sixth-generation Camaro. In the same press release, Chevrolet’s global Vice President, Scott Bell, was quoted as saying the following.

“As we prepare to say goodbye to the current generation Camaro, it is difficult to overstate our gratitude to every Camaro customer, Camaro assembly line employee and race fan. While we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, this is not the end of Camaro’s story.”

The future of the Chevy Camaro is currently murky, but any discussion must take into account the broader context of GM’s transition to an all-electric lineup by the 2035 calendar year. For instance, one report states that GM will leverage the Chevy Camaro nameplate to create a future Camaro EV sub-brand “umbrella” that offers a variety of different all-electric models covering several different segments. Among these may be a new coupe and convertible model, as well as a mid-priced flagship sports car loosely related to the upcoming electric Corvette models, and even an all-electric Chevy Camaro utility vehicle (crossover SUV).

Lineage

The sixth-generation Camaro was introduced as the 2016 Camaro, which received a complete overhaul (re-engineering and redesign). It was followed by minor changes for the 2017 and 2018 model years. A mid-cycle refresh arrived for the 2019 Camaro, followed by a further modification to the front fascia for the 2020 Camaro, making the 2020 model a sort of refresh of a refresh.

Minor changes arrive for the 2021 Camaro, 2022 Camaro and 2023 Camaro. The 2024 Camaro represented the ninth and final model year of the sixth-generation Camaro, for which it receives some minor changes and updates, headlined by the aforementioned Collector Edition and ZL1 Garage 56 Edition to commemorate the discontinuation of the sixth-gen model.
