2020 Chevrolet Camaro Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro receives a few changes, updates, and new features, as follows:

Model Line

  • Addition of the long-rumored LT1 models as low-cost V8 models slotting between LT and SS models:
    • Addition of LT1 Coupe (model 1AJ37) with 6.2L V8 LT1 engine and LT model appearance (as opposed to SS looks), with new trim level code 1LZ
    • Addition of LT1 Convertible (model 1AG67) with 6.2L V8 LT1 engine and LT model appearance (as opposed to SS looks), with new trim level code 1LZ
  • Introduction of Shock and Steel Special Edition (not available at start of production) on 2LT, 3LT and 2SS models. Package includes:
    • 20″ blade design aluminum wheels
    • Carbon Flash-painted outside mirrors
    • Center stripe in Silver when Shock color is ordered or in Shock color when Satin Steel Metallic is ordered
    • Spoiler stripe
    • Body-color wing spoiler
    • Fuel filler door in Black with visible carbon fiber insert
    • Brembo 4-piston front performance brakes
    • Yellow-painted calipers
    • Black sueded knee pad
    • Carbon fiber instrument panel molding
    • Premium carpeted floor mats
  • Introduction of Redline edition (not available at start of production) on 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, 1SS, 2SS models. Package includes:
    • 20″ Black-painted aluminum wheels with Red accents
    • Black Camaro fender badge with Red outline
    • Redline Edition stripes
    • Red seat belt color
    • Red knee pads
    • Premium carpeted floor mats

Exterior

  • Colors:
    • Deletion of Silver Ice Metallic exterior color
    • Deletion of Mosaic Black Metallic exterior color
    • Addition of Rally Green Metallic exterior color
  • Addition of new front fascia for SS models, wherein the mid-bar gets painted body-color rather than being black
  • An expanded availability of RPO wheels, which are now available with any LPO wheels, based on model/trim availability
  • Addition of new 20″ 5-split spoke polished forged wheels with black star center cap (WR1/57W)
  • Addition of dark tint tail lamps optional on LS and LT models
  • Addition of new Camaro fender badge optional on LS, LT, and SS models
  • Addition of new black front and rear bowties on LS and LT models
  • Addition of red-painted brake calipers available on LT, LT1 and SS models
    • On LT models, includes Brembo 4-piston front performance brakes, which are included on LT1 and SS
  • Addition of orange-painted brake calipers available on LT, LT1 and SS models
    • On LT models, includes Brembo 4-piston front performance brakes, which are included on LT1 and SS
  • Addition of decklid-mounted lip spoiler as option on LS and LT Coupe without RS Package
    • Available on LS, LT, LT1, SS models

Interior

  • Introduction of new red knee pads on LT, 1LT, SS and ZL1 models
    • Not available with Kalahari interior
  • Introduction of red seat belt color as option across the entire model range (previously only available on ZL1)
  • Addition of Tire Fill Alert feature on all models
  • Rear Camera Mirror is now standard on 3LT Coupe and 3LT Convertible and is no longer deleted when 1LE Track Package is ordered
    • For 2019 model year, Rear Camera Mirror was standard only on 2SS and ZL1 models, and was deleted when 1LE Track Package was ordered
  • Recaro performance front bucket seats are now available on LT Coupe and LT Convertible models without requiring 1LE Track Performance Package
  • Sport alloy pedals are now available on LT and SS Coupe/Convertible
    • For 2019 model year, were only available on ZL1 (as standard equipment)
  • Sueded microfiber-wrapped, flat-bottom steering wheel and sueded microfiber-wrapped shifter now available on LT and SS Coupe and Convertible
    • For 2019 model year, these required 1LE Track Performance Package on LT and SS, while being standard on ZL1
  • Adrenaline Red and Ceramic White interior colors now available on 2LT Coupe and 2LT Convertible
    • For 2019 model year, only available on 3LT and 2SS models

Powertrain

  • 10-speed automatic transmission now available on LT models with 3.6L V6 LGX engine
    • For 2019 model year, LT models with automatic option got 8-speed transmission
  • 3LT Coupe and Convertible now standard with turbo-charged 2.0L I4 LTG engine, while 3.6L V6 LGX is now an available option
    • For 2019 model year, the 3LT trim came standard with the 3.6L V6 LGX engine

Packages

  • Convenience and Lighting Package now standard on 3LT Coupe and 3LT Convertible, includes:
  • 3LT Coupe and 3LT Convertible standard audio system is now (IOS) Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with 8″ diagonal HD color touchscreen, while (IOT) Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system with connected Navigation is now an available option
    • For 2019 model year, IOT was standard and IOS was not available on 3LT
  • Deletion of the following LPOs:
    • RS/SS Interior Package
    • Camaro Logo Premium Carpeted Mats Package
    • Premium carpeted 1LE floor mats
    • Premium carpeted performance logo floor mats
    • Winter Protection Package
    • Decklid blackout decal
    • Black Metallic with Red outline hash mark stripes
    • (PCH/PCI) Performance Enthusiast Packages

Changes

  • (ZN2) Convenience and Lighting Package now standard on 3LT Coupe/Convertible
  • 3LT Coupe/Convertible standard audio system is now (IOS) Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system, 8″ diagonal HD color touchscreen
    • (IOT) Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system with connected Navigation is now an available option
  • 3LT Coupe/Convertible standard engine is now (LTG) 2.0L Turbo; (LGX) 3.6L V6 is now an available option
  • (DRZ) Rear Camera Mirror is now standard on 3LT Coupe/Convertible and no longer deleted when (A1X/A1Y/A1Z) 1LE Track Package is ordered
  • (AQJ) RECARO performance front bucket seats now available on LT Coupe/Convertible without requiring (A1X) 1LE Track Performance Package
  • (BRJ/BRD) 4F9 Red and 4G2 Ceramic interior colors now available on 2LT Coupe/Convertible
  • (JF5) Sport alloy pedals now available on LT and SS Coupe/Convertible
  • (N26) Sueded microfiber-wrapped, flat-bottom steering wheel and (KS9) shifter now available on LT and SS Coupe/Convertible
  • RPO wheels are available with any LPO wheels, based on model/trim availability
