Cadillac XT5 V-Sport

The Cadillac XT5 V-Sport was expected to be a more sporty and more performance-oriented variant of the Cadillac XT5 crossover. However, an XT5 V-Sport never came to market, and will not come to market.

V-Sport Sub-Brand Discontinuation

In 2020, Cadillac discontinued the V-Sport sub-brand, as GM Authority was first to report. The move was followed by the creation of two tiers for the V-Series sub-brand, consisting of performance-oriented V-Series (CT4-V, CT5-V) and an ultra high-performance V-Series Blackwing (CT4-V Blackwing, CT5-V Blackwing). As such, if a performance-oriented Cadillac XT5 were to be brought to market, it would undoubtedly be named XT5-V, and not as a XT5 V-Sport.

No Plans For XT5 V-Sport

Regardless of name, a high-performance Cadillac XT5 V-Sport or XT5-V is not planned to be brought to market, as GM Authority was first to report back in 2019.

Instead, the Cadillac XT5 will continue being offered with the following engines:

  • North America:
    • Naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque
    • Turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque
  • China
    • Turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine mated with a 48V mild-hybrid system, rated at 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque
